I've lived in Victoria for 15 years, and have wanted to take this tour for awhile now. I am so glad I went today! Huy ch q'u to our wonderful tour guide Melissa, for your generosity, your teachings, and your kindness, and for singing me the birthday song.

Our management team had the privilege of joining a Songhees Tours paddle, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The setting was beautiful, the pace was perfect for our group, and the cultural learning woven into the paddle made it truly unique. A huge thank you to our guide, Melissa, who was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable, warm, and engaging. Melissa brought the stories of the Songhees Nation to life in such a meaningful way and made sure every person in our group felt connected and cared for. This was more than just an activity; it was a team experience that left us inspired and grateful. We could not recommend Songhees Tours more highly for anyone looking to combine adventure, learning, and connection.

Returning to my ancestral lands, 3rd generation removed, and sharing the Pəlat̓ᶱəs canoe tour with my Lək̓ʷəŋən family, was a profoundly moving experience. Our guides, Melissa and Cyril, embodied our people’s deep connection to the land and conveyed the Lək̓ʷəŋən People’s persistence in keeping our culture alive despite the hardships endured since contact. The paddlers, singing our traditional songs, were beacons of hope, ensuring the passage of traditional ways to the next generation. For anyone wanting to fully understand this land, I highly recommend this tour. Həyšxʷq̓ə.
